"A bit about me”: Before starting my family, I worked for a newspaper publication. I began as a Sales Assistant, and within a year, I was promoted to Executive Assistant. My role involved supporting the sales team, assisting with the design and production of the newspaper, and managing daily operations. After three years, I was given the opportunity to open and run a new publication at a different location. It was around this time that I discovered I was pregnant."
I married my best friend in 2000, and we welcomed our first child in 2002. When my daughter was born with a medical condition, I knew that no one could care for her better than I could. That realization led us to make the decision for me to become a stay-at-home mom. In 2006, our family felt complete with the birth of my son. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of being present for every moment, and I wouldn’t change that for the world.
I was deeply involved in both of my kids' schools, whether it was chaperoning field trips, assisting teachers, or serving as a room parent. On multiple occasions, I took the initiative to establish and lead a safety committee for the PTA, organizing Red Ribbon Week, safety programs, and year-round activities. Additionally, I was honored to be invited to join the school district's "Facility Advisory Committee," where I contributed to planning, operations, and decision-making to benefit the entire school community.
I also established a safety committee to keep the school, parents, and community informed, encourage open communication, and explore new ways to enhance safety. During this time, I attended a Police Academy class to gain a deeper understanding of community safety, the best safety practices, and the daily experiences of law enforcement officers.
Over the years, I also volunteered with Texas EquuSearch, an organization dedicated to locating missing individuals. Wanting to expand my efforts, I began working with NamUs and the Doe Network, both of which utilize various resources to help identify and locate missing persons, providing families with much-needed closure.
Being a stay-at-home mom was the most rewarding and fulfilling experience of my life. Now that my children are growing up, I’ve decided it’s time to refocus on myself.
In August 2024, I suffered a severe foot and leg injury that left me bedridden for a while. During that time, I found myself watching “Say Yes to the Dress” frequently and was shocked by how many people spent $5,000 or more on a dress they’d only wear for one day. Most of these dresses end up tucked away in closets for years—just like mine. Since I love helping people, saving money, and finding great deals, I thought, why not open a bridal consignment store? Sounds logical, right?
I decided to start Crystal's Bridal Consignment, where customers can bring in their dresses, and together, we assess if any restoration is needed to bring them back to life. Once the dress is ready, we sell it and share the profits.
I want every bride who walks into my store to feel truly special, whether they choose a $10,000 gown or a $200 dress. That’s why we create a memorable experience, allowing brides to bring their entourage and enjoy the process of finding the perfect dress. Since our gowns are consignment pieces rather than from big-box retailers, they are available at a fraction of the retail price—making dream dresses more affordable without sacrificing the magic of the moment. We are hoping to have our store location open in July of 2025. "We invite you to explore our current inventory of exquisite bridal gowns, available now for purchase.”
At Crystal’s Bridal Consignment, my goal is to make every bride feel beautiful and celebrated while offering stunning dresses at an affordable price. Whether you're looking for the perfect gown or giving a once-loved dress a new story, I’m here to help make the journey special. I can’t wait to be a part of your big day!
